Start with the need, not the wish
List the real line items, fees, travel, equipment, materials, and total them. That number is honest, and honesty is persuasive.
Test the goal against your roster
Divide the total by your roster and ask whether that per-student figure is plausible in your community. If it is not, either the goal or the timeline needs to change.
Model it before you announce it
Use the campaign calculator to sanity check participation assumptions. Treat the output as a planning estimate, not a forecast.
